"An Untitled Document" by Jahzara Jenkins

An untitled document

A blank page

Some may say they bloom with age

A splatter of words

Both bright and vibrant

A trickle of inspiration may strike when silent

The Creator may sit

May ponder and wait

What if the blank slate wants to stay blank?

The canvas may sit

But want to escape

The page may stay

Hoping the wind will blow it away

The doc may show

Looking to glitch or to blow

But none may go

For abscondence is a no

A painting can not be finished

When it isn’t allowed to be started

A drawing can not be drawn

When it isn’t allowed to be started

A document can not be typed

When it isn’t allowed to be started

A person can not grow

When their growth isn’t allowed to be started

What shall the Creator do

When the masterpiece has no desire to be started?

The Creator may sit

May ponder and wait

Distraught that the blank slate wants to stay blank

The splatter of words

Both vibrant and bright

Will not bloom with no light

For the Creator will not paint

With the intent of being polite

On a canvas with doubt and spite
